Montserrat Hernandez is a bilingual Mexican-American actress, voice actress, singer, writer and director. Montse was born in Dallas, Texas.
Montse started her career doing national commercials and modeling at the age of 3. She began voice acting at the age of 4. Because she couldn’t yet read, she’d have the voice over lines fed to her and memorize them before heading into the booth. At age 8 she landed the role of Natalia in BARNEY (2008). Her family moved to Los Angeles to have Montse pursue her acting career when she was 10.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Montse has been the titular role of Teen Jane in the CW’s “JANE THE VIRGIN” (2014- 2017). She also has recurring arcs on several shows including, NBC’s “THE NIGHT SHIFT” (2015) and USA’s “COLONY” (2016).
Montse has also made her movie debut in the film “LOWRIDERS” (2016) with Eva Longoria, Demian Bichir, Gabriel Chavarria and Melissa Benoist.
Montse also landed the lead role in the upcoming horror film STUDENT BODY (2021) acting alongside Christian Camargo, Harley Quinn Smith, Austin Zajur and more.
She is currently voicing in three CARTOON NETWORK SHOWS, GWEN TENNYSON in “BEN10” (lead) (2015- present), and STACKS on “CRAIG OF THE CREEK” (recurring) (2018) and CRISTINA in VICTOR AND VALENTINO.
She is also voicing a lead in the now EMMY AWARD WINNING SHOW on NETFLIX called “THE LAST KIDS ON EARTH” voice acting alongside Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O’Hara, Nick Wolfhard and many more.
Montse also voices in the world famous game LEAGUE OF LEGENDS as champion EMPRESS QIYANA.
Her second passion is writing and directing. In the winter of 2018, she directed an animatic record with an all star voice cast. Cast members included Josh Keaton, Yuri Lowenthal, Max Mittleman, David Kaye, and Tara Platt. She’s written multiple shorts, shows, and even a full length feature. She is pitching her shows this summer.
Her hobbies include singing, writing, dancing, martial arts, boxing, playing video games and watching anime.
